Boccia is a game of strategy and accuracy played on a flat, smooth surface, where players must throw or roll colored balls as close as possible to a white target ball, known as the “jack.” The player, pair or team with the most balls near the jack is the winner.

Overview

Boccia is a game of strategy and accuracy for individuals with impairments that affect motor skills.

It is is one of two Paralympic sports that does not have an Olympic counterpart. It is a game of strategy and accuracy for individuals with impairments that affect motor skills. Boccia is played on a flat, smooth surface, where athletes must throw or roll colored balls as close as possible to the white target ball, known as the jack.

Boccia is held on Saturday mornings at The Libertyville Chapel.

Ages 8+ for athletes who utilize a powerchair on a daily basis.

A GLASA Membership is required for all individuals who would like to participate in GLASA's Weekly Programs. Scholarships are available as GLASA will never turn anyone away due to financial hardship. Please contact GLASA if you are in need of a scholarship or would like to try out GLASA's programs with 1 free month.
