Add one-handed magnetic zipping to the jacket you already own, with no sewing.

ZipperBuddy MagZip zips onto your jacket's existing zipper and gives it a self-aligning magnetic base. Bring the ends together until they click, then zip up with one hand. It installs without sewing, glue or tools, usually in under 60 seconds, and comes off any time with no change to the jacket.

Fits #5 plastic separating zippers. Look for a 5 stamped on the back of the zipper pull and choose the length equal to or just under your zipper's length. For metal or coil zippers, or zippers under 22" or over 32", order a Custom ZipperBuddy MagZip.

Overview

ZipperBuddy is the one-handed zipper adapter that helps you close your favorite jacket with no sewing and no permanent changes. Designed for stroke survivors, people with arthritis or reduced grip, caregivers, and kids who want to zip their own jackets.

How to Install

  1. Lay the jacket flat and fully unzipped.
  2. Place the ZipperBuddy in the center, as it comes out of the package.
  3. Zip each side onto the matching side of the jacket's zipper. A helper can make the first install easier.

How to Zip

Hold the pull at the magnetic base, bring the ends together until they click, then zip up. Pull apart to open.

Ordering FAQ

Will it fit my jacket?

  • Flip the zipper pull over and look for a 5 stamped on the back, for example 5VSu.
  • Check that the zipper teeth are molded plastic and the zipper separates at the bottom.
  • Metal or coil zippers need a Custom ZipperBuddy MagZip.

Which length should I order?

  • Measure your zipper from the top stop to the bottom stop.
  • Choose the length equal to or just under that measurement. If you are between lengths, size down.
  • Zippers under 22" or over 32" need a Custom ZipperBuddy MagZip.

Care

Hand wash only. Unzip ZipperBuddy from the jacket before machine washing the jacket, then reattach it once dry.
