Alive Day - Date of Injury

Alive Day - Date of Injury
I had a terrible car accident. I broke both arms, hands, shoulders, crushed ribs on the right side and the car steering column went into my sternum pushing ribs on left out and into the driver's seat. The lower frame went through both legs, breaking both femur and lower leg bones.
They had to amputate my left leg above the knee. I died 3 times over the next 4 days and the doctors told my family, “he will not come off life support”. After multiple surgeries, 50 screws, 14 anchors, 12 rods and 8 plates they put humpty dumpty back together. I was first told I would not walk again due to spinal injury. I kept pushing and refusing to give up.
Slowly but surely, I got out of the wheelchair and started walking again. It was a long road, but overcoming all of the hurdles and obstacles put in my way, I was able to get back to not only living, but proving all of the people wrong who said I would not be able to do things again.
I completed my first Motocross Hare Scramble Event 1½ yrs after the wreck. I have worked my way up in my field to the Regional IT Manager for one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world. I have also used this experience to hopefully inspire others by showing them that no matter what happens in life, we can always overcome and accomplish anything we set our hearts and mind to.
It may sound weird, but the wreck was the best thing that ever happened to me. It has made me appreciate every moment of life and never take things for granted. I work with new amputees through my prosthetic company and help them see that they can overcome and keep living and Never Give Up!!!
The company's products give us the opportunity to open the door to conversation we might otherwise not have with others and non amputees. We can show others that no matter what we can keep excelling in life, living it to the fullest and kick ass daily. The support for the Amplife and amputees they show is phenomenal.
Never Give Up.
Get Up - Shinedown.
Walking into the doctors office that told my family I would not live, and if I did, I would never walk again. Proving all the naysayers wrong and overcoming the odds.
I enjoy working out, golf, car shows and chasing our grand-daughter all over the place.
Sports Cars & anything with an engine.
I enjoy helping others that are new to the AMP world and who have had injuries to see that they can still live life and do anything they put their mind to.
